Appeals September 2018


Applicants who wish to appeal against the refusal of a place at the School should complete an Appeal form and send it to the Independent Appeals Panel at Chelmsford – the address is at the top of the form – and NOT to the School.  The Appeal Form, together with Notes for Guidance can be downloaded from the Essex County Council website at →Education and Schools→Schools→Admissions →Appeals. 

In addition, applicants can make an online appeal via the Essex County Council website if this is preferred.

Davenant Foundation School uses the Statutory Appeals Service through Essex County Council for their School Appeals. Applicants wishing to appeal against not getting a place at Davenant Foundation School should either make their appeal online via the Essex County Council website or download the Appeal Form, together with Notes for Guidance from the Essex County Council website. All documentation to be returned direct to the address of the Independent Appeals Panel in Chelmsford.

In Year Admissions

 Davenant Foundation School accepts in-year admissions for Years 7-11 if a vacancy occurs. The School maintains a Waiting List from those to whom we were unable to offer places in Year 7, and, who indicate in writing that they would like to remain on the Waiting List. In-year applications are processed and incorporated into the appropriate year according to our Admissions Policy.

Admission to the school in Year 7 must be made through the Local Authority’s Coordinated Admissions procedure.

If you are asked for Davenant's DfES number by your LEA, it is 881/5426.

Applicants are invited to complete a Supplementary Information Form which is essential to enable the Governors to assess the application against the School’s admissions criteria. (See Admission Arrangements below). The Supplementary Information Form for September 2018 admission should be returned to the School as soon as possible, together with the relevant proofs of address, and no later than 20 October 2017.
