Davenant Remembers
Today every student and every member of staff paid their respects to those who died in past and present conflicts. Students researched and dedicated their cross or star to a member of their family or a local soldier who died in World War one or more recent wars.
Each student and staff member placed a symbol in the ground during the morning. At 11 o clock the whole school gathered around our memorial lawn and the last post was played on a military bugle by Mr Beaumont. There followed a 2 mi-nute silence by the whole school which ended with the Bugle call. Two students laid a wreath by the silhouettes of unknown soldiers in remembrance of those who fell. Davenant lost both staff and students in the Great War 1914 to 1918
